A new discussion group has been formed for advocates in New York State. The discussion group is for community health advocates, health and legal practitioners, researchers and others – anyone who is working to prevent lead poisoning in children. Much of the discussion will relate to “primary prevention” efforts to find and eliminate lead-paint hazards in housing before children are poisoned. The forum will be used to facilitate cross-agency (health, code enforcement, social services) discussions and exchanges of information.
Additionally, we hope to increase of awareness of initiatives being explored and undertaken by cities and counties across the state.
People can sign up by following this link and scrolling down to “New York State Lead Poisoning Prevention Discussion List.”
Passwords and archives for the discussion lists are available here.
